Year 5 - Matthew Boulton & Soho House
Year 5 have been focusing on the work of Matthew Boulton and their place of interest was his former home and site of his factory Soho House. The children looked at Boulton’s life, the history of Soho House and also his membership of the Lunar Society.
Year 5 went to visit the museum at Soho House to learn more about the property and it's owner Matthew Boulton. They got to see traditional Georgian artefacts, several rooms of the house including the breakfast room and the cellar and also the infamous Lunar Society meeting room. We got to learn more about the Lunar Society, Matthew Boulton's life, his family and his work.
Maisie - "My favourite part was dressing up"
Gabrielle - "My favourite part was pretending to be a servant and doing jobs in the kitchen"
Harley - "I really enjoyed it because we got to explore the house more"
